I believe I excelled in sales because I didn't fit the stereotype of a 'typical' salesperson. I wasn't loud and 'in your face,' and I especially wasn't concerned with making a quick sale. If I didn't fully believe in what I was selling, I wasn't selling it. Period. I started out selling cell phones – I did this happily for 6 years and really learned how to hone my communication skills (no pun intended). Purchasing a cell phone can quickly become a nightmare for people, especially when there are hidden terms and clauses in their contracts. I prided myself on being the best at explaining the fine print fully to my clients and getting them to understand their purchases long before they signed on the dotted line.
I've also been a Certified Diamontologist and can evaluate the quality of any diamond; my clients today, in Real Estate, don't question me when I tell them that a Property really is 'A Diamond in the Rough.' I know a gem when I see one;)
I was introduced to real estate from the ground up, starting as an assistant, then moving into a buyer's agent role before becoming a full-service agent. I love the satisfaction I get from doing this job. I feel that, in many ways, I am a 'realist.' I love that my clients often see things with rose-coloured glasses. Still, I also enjoy being the one to keep them grounded and remind them of their 'Real Estate Goals' and how certain properties best meet their personal, financial, and long-term goals. I love helping my clients see the bigger picture of each property!
